About the Course

Public Speaking For Children (Ages 6–10)
Built on The Tell & Share Five-Pillar Confidence Method™
Where Confidence Finds Its Voice
Children do not lack ideas.
They often lack the boldness to express them.
Public Speaking For Children is a year-round, in-term developmental academy designed to build confident, articulate and courageous young communicators.
Through a powerful blend of performing arts confidence training and structured public speaking coaching, children are not only taught how to speak — they are trained to stand, express and present with clarity.
This programme runs during school term time throughout the year, allowing children to grow progressively and be promoted as they develop.

The Tell & Share Five-Pillar Confidence Method™

Our curriculum and approach combines the confidence-building boldness-boosting components of the performing arts with hands-on coaching in public speaking. Ultimately, our goal is to empower your child to speak convincingly with presence and attain presentation mastery.
Every child is trained through five carefully designed pillars:
1. Foundations of Confidence
Children learn posture, voice projection and stage presence. They develop the courage to stand tall and speak audibly before others.
2. Voice & Expression Mastery
Clear pronunciation, strong articulation and expressive delivery are developed through dynamic vocal exercises and creative storytelling.
3. Boldness Through Movement
Using age-appropriate performing arts techniques, children learn natural gestures, purposeful movement and how to manage nervous energy.
4. Structured Speech Building
Children are taught how to organise their thoughts using simple presentation structures — beginning, middle and end — and speak without reading from notes.
5. Courageous Presentation & Showcase
Each child applies their learning through guided presentations and termly showcase opportunities, culminating in milestone recognition ceremonies.

Year-Round In-Term Development Pathway
Public Speaking For Children is not a one-off course.
It is a continuous developmental journey.
Children are assessed, nurtured and promoted through progressive levels:
Level 1 – Emerging Speaker
Building basic confidence, simple eye contact and short spoken responses.
Level 2 – Developing Communicator
Delivering structured 1-minute presentations with natural gestures and improved clarity.
Level 3 – Confident Presenter
Presenting with composure, vocal variation and strong stage presence.
Promotion is based on growth and readiness — not merely attendance.

• Word Explorer Badge – expanding vocabulary and expressive confidence
• Star Moment Recognition – celebrating visible improvement
• Performing Arts Confidence Labs – creative boldness-building sessions
• End-of-Term Showcase Presentations

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a short course or a long-term programme?
Public Speaking For Children runs year-round during school term time. Children develop progressively and are promoted as they grow in confidence and presentation mastery.
My child is shy. Is this suitable?
Yes. Many confident speakers begin as quiet children. Our approach combines performing arts confidence exercises with gentle coaching in a safe, encouraging environment.
Does my child have to memorise speeches?
No. Children are taught how to structure and express their ideas naturally. The goal is confident communication — not memorisation.
How are children promoted?
Children are assessed continuously. Promotion to the next level is based on readiness, visible growth and increased confidence — not simply attendance.
Will my child receive a certificate?
Yes. Milestone Recognition and Showcase Ceremonies are held to celebrate development and achievement. A Certificate of Completion is issued to each child who completes all the pillars and all levels to the satisfaction of the faculty. On no occasion and under no circumstances will a Certificate of Completion be issued simply for showing up. Certification is based on completion and competence.
What makes this programme different?
We do not focus only on “speaking.”
We combine:
• Performing arts confidence training
• Structured presentation coaching
• Vocabulary expansion
• Stage presence development
The result is lasting confidence — not temporary performance.
How soon will I see improvement?
Many parents observe visible improvement in posture, volume and classroom participation within weeks. Sustained confidence grows through consistent attendance.

Samuel Jonathan

Samuel Jonathan is the Founder of the Royal Centre For Public Speaking, and Head of Faculty at The Tell & Share Project. For 52 years, ranging from music (songwriting, composing and singing, to directing and performing) to playwriting, acting and poetry, Samuel has been actively involved in various forms of the performing arts. In 2012, he designed "Public Speaking For Pupils", the first certified course in public speaking for children. Weeks later, after observing the rich content of the course and transformational changes in their students, Mr Jonathan had to design an equivalent bespoke course for their teachers, and named it "Public Speaking For Today's Teacher". His signature style of coaching has been described by educators, senior public officials and corporate executives as inspiring, uplifting and transformative. In 2007, The British Army were so impressed with the concept of Samuel's youth leadership programme in London, that they sponsored it! A very short list of organisations and educational institutions who have benefitted from Samuel's coaching legacy include British International School, Johns Hopkins University, Barclays, The British Council, KPMG, Ernst & Young, University of Ghana and The United Nations. The primary reason why Samuel is conducting these courses in Britain is because of his love for children. He has equipped world leaders and now he wants to empower children in our local community. In his words, "After 21 years of public speaking coaching, 6,000 presentations and 52 years of performing in music and the arts, I have come to the conclusion that it takes more than a classroom learning experience to bring out the best in our children!" Samuel Jonathan is Enhanced DBS Certified and looks forward to raising world-class speakers, starting with your child.
