About the Course

Designed for Every Child
Many parents have more than one child across different age groups. This Summer Camp has been thoughtfully designed to accommodate children aged 6 to 14 in one enriching environment. This also explains why we offer a Sibling Discount!
One location. One schedule. A life-changing skill for every child.
While core lessons are shared, all speaking activities, role-plays and presentation tasks are carefully adapted to suit each child’s age, confidence level and ability.
When you develop this skill in your child, that skill will grow with them!
Starting children in public speaking development at a young age is one of the best investments you can make in that child's life. Public Speaking is a skill that our children will need for a lifetime but are not being taught in school. This means that we are preparing our children for exams but not preparing them to speak up! Public Speaking For Children (ages 6 - 10) is a wholesome enriched learning experience which offers hands-on coaching designed to nurture confidence, clarity, and courage — helping young minds speak up and stand out.

Curriculum
It is the desire of every parent for their child to have world-class education. Our goal is to coach your child to become a world-class Communicator and respected Speaker. Therefore, the primary areas of focus and core syllabus for the course shall include:
Overcoming Stage-fright and the nervousness that comes with giving a presentation
Daily Habits for Confidence-Building
The 3V's of Communication - Verbal (the words you say), Vocal (how you say it - volume, pitch, pace, inflection), Visual (body language, posture, facial expressions, gesture)
Enriching Your Vocabulary
How To Prepare Your Speech and Organise Your Thoughts
Improving Presentation Skills
Attaining Presentation Mastery and Speaking Convincingly
Perfecting the Art of Answering Questions and Handling Objections Gracefully
Developing Your Charisma
International Public Speaking Etiquette
Each attendee who attends all classes and completes all their assignments shall receive a Certificate of Completion. Less than 0.001% of children in Britain have a Certificate in Public Speaking!

Coaching Approach
Hands-on coaching is the approach we are adopting. With exciting roleplays, engaging group exercises, fun-filled tutorials and real-life presentation trials, your child will have a wholesome learning experience.
Ages 6 - 9 years old
Storytelling Circle - Kids take turns telling a part of a story, encouraging creativity and teamwork.
Show and Tell - Each child brings an item from home and explains its significance, boosting confidence and presentation skills.
Charades - A fun way to express ideas and emotions without words, improving non-verbal communication.
Improvised Games - Simple improvisation exercises to enhance spontaneity and quick thinking.
Debates - Topics like "cats vs. dogs" where kids can share opinions and learn respectful debate techniques.
Ages 10 - 14 years old
Presentation Trials - Encourage them to prepare and deliver short convincing speeches on topics they are passionate about, fostering critical thinking.
Audio-Visual Tutorials and Exercises
Vocabulary Expansion - Learning new English words every week. In addition to being habitual, one of the leading reason why people frequently say "Ummm" (which cannot be found in any dictionary) is because of poor vocabular. Simply put, you cannot give what you do not have! On a weekly basis, participants will learn new words with proper pronunciation, how to spell them, the meaning of those words and illustrate proper application of those words.
Overcoming Stage-Fright - Proven tips and techniques for overcoming the nervousness, anxiety and pre-speech tension that comes with addressing an audience.
Speech Workouts - individual and group exercises that focus on integral components of vocal delivery, such as volume, tone, tempo and inflection.
Mock Interviews - Simulated job and college interviews to help them practice how to seamlessly articulate their ideas, insights and illustrations.
An Introduction to Business Correspondence Etiquette and Corporate Manners
Podcasting Project - Creating a short podcast about topics and issues they love.
Q&A Segments - Learning how to invite questions from the audience and answer them with competence and charisma.
Assessment & Feedback - In addition to the assessment given by the Lead Facilitator, participants to receive feedback from their peers.

How Does This Compare To The 6-month Course?
Our initial 6-month programme involved one 1-hour class each week. Over a 6-month period, that totals to 24 - 27 hours. With 4 hours each day over a 2-week period, the number of hours of coaching easily adds up to 40 hours, nearly twice as much! Hence, the 2-week intensive version of Public Speaking For Children offers more hours of coaching and more value for money. Each attendee who attends all classes and completes all their assignments shall receive a Certificate of Completion.

Samuel Jonathan

Samuel Jonathan is the Founder of the Royal Centre For Public Speaking. In 2012, he designed "Public Speaking For Pupils", the first certified course in public speaking for children. Weeks later, after observing the rich content of the course and transformational changes in their students, Mr Jonathan had to design an equivalent bespoke course for their teachers, and named it "Public Speaking For Today's Teacher". His signature style of coaching has been described by educators, senior public officials and corporate executives as inspiring, uplifting and transformative. In 2007, The British Army were so impressed with the concept of Samuel's youth leadership programme in London, that they sponsored it! A very short list of organisations and educational institutions who have benefitted from Samuel's coaching legacy include British International School, Johns Hopkins University, Barclays, The British Council, KPMG, Ernst & Young, University of Ghana and The United Nations. The sole reason why Samuel is conducting this course in Britain is because of his love for children. With over 1,000 testimonials from 13 countries, he could simply retire and call it a day. He has equipped world leaders and now he wants to empower the local child. Samuel Jonathan is Enhanced DBS Certified and looks forward to raising world-class speakers, starting with your child.
